I'm locked out of a period cottage in the Old Town, will opening it damage the door?+
Almost never. Older mortice and rim locks respond well to proper non-destructive techniques, and on a conservation-area door I take particular care with the timber and the original ironmongery.
I'm locked out of a flat near the Quay and the keys are inside, how quick can you be?+
The centre of Poole is minutes from my base, so usually 15 to 30. A door on the latch with keys inside is often one of the fastest openings I do.
My smart lock near Canford Cliffs has locked me out, can you deal with it?+
Yes. I fit and service smart locks across the Sandbanks side of town, so I know the common models and their failure modes, and most keep a mechanical override I can work with.
Do you cover Sandbanks late at night?+
I do, 24/7. Outside summer traffic the peninsula is quick to reach, and I'll be straight with you about timing if the season says otherwise.
Need me in Poole now?

Ask Andy to call you back
Getting someone back into their home in Poole depends entirely on which Poole they live in. A period timber door in the Old Town conservation area wants careful picking of a mortice or rim lock, not a drill. A uPVC door up at Creekmoor or Oakdale usually means working the cylinder or the multipoint mechanism. And the composite and aluminium doors around Canford Cliffs and Branksome Park, often with smart locks on them, are a different job again. I open all of them for a living, nearly always without damage.
Non-destructive entry, whatever the door
The overwhelming majority of my Poole openings leave no mark on the door at all. A latch that's clicked shut behind you, which covers most of the flat lockouts I attend around the town centre and the Quay, is among the fastest jobs on my sheet. A deadlocked door means picking or bypassing the cylinder, and the high-security doors fitted on Poole's newer developments call for techniques learned through practice, never force. A drill only comes out when a lock has died internally with no other route in, and my van stocks the cylinders and locks to leave you secure that same evening.
Before you try to force it
Every week somewhere in Poole a shoulder barge or a bent bank card upgrades a simple lockout into joinery work. On an Old Town timber door that can mean a split frame on a period property, and on a uPVC estate door it usually bends the mechanism and doubles the cost. Ring me first: nothing to pay for the visit itself, a firm price before any tool touches the door, and payment only once you're stood back in your hallway.
